The European project Crop-MATCHING was presented at the XXVI Feira Raiana/Rayana 2026, held from 22 to 26 July in Portugal, through a stand hosted by project partner Food4Sustainability (F4S).
Organised by the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, Feira Raiana is a multi-sectoral cross-border cooperation event designed to showcase the region’s potential by bringing together local producers, craftspeople, businesses and institutions that share the Raiana identity. Under the motto “A Town with its Own Identity is the commitment that unites us”, the event focused on local development and the promotion of regional traditions.
Crop-MATCHING at the F4S stand
At the F4S stand, Crop-MATCHING was presented to farmers, technicians and other stakeholders interested in sustainable farming. Visitors learned more about the project’s objectives, Portugal’s role in the consortium and the ongoing national activities.
The event also provided an opportunity to share the work already being developed with the Portuguese multi-actor community and to invite new participants to future practice groups, questionnaires and workshops.
Crop-MATCHING aims to support small-scale farming through sustainable crop combinations such as rotations, intercropping, cover crops and agroforestry. By engaging directly with the agricultural community, the project seeks to ensure that the practices identified are practical, relevant and adapted to farmers’ real needs.
