For Noosware, Crop-MATCHING is another opportunity to bring AI and product expertise to agriculture and learn how that expertise must adapt to the people in order to create meaningful impact.
Technology companies are usually brought in to build a solution. With Crop-MATCHING, we have an opportunity to start from something much harder: understanding the problem in depth. Before ideation, we are called to understand what farmers use in their day-to-day, what makes training practical, how local conditions change a cropping practice to provide use-case-specific recommendations.
It’s exactly here where Noosware brings experience in artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and product development, which has been applied and tested across fields, languages, and constraints. The complexity that arises from diverse agricultural contexts in which Cropmatching operates renders this process exciting and challenging at the same time. A practice that works in one region may need to change in another. A farmer, advisor, researcher, and policymaker may look at the same information in very different ways. Any useful digital tool has to account for that.
Despite still being in the first project year, much of the essential groundwork has already been kicked off. First activities focus on defining the problem area to ensure technical specifications arising from them are firmly grounded in data. More exciting work still lies ahead: building, testing, and finding out what works across regions and users. We are eager to get deeper into the project, bring our experience to the table, and let the needs of the field shape how we apply it.
Our main contribution is the e-learning platform and the personalisation mechanisms that will help users find relevant content. Noosware is designing the learning experience to be accessible, practical, and useful across different contexts. The way we see this, personalisation is not only a technical challenge. It is also a question of respect. The platform should not force every learner through the same route or assume that an algorithm understands someone’s needs better than they do. Its job is actually simpler than that: make useful knowledge easier to find, and we are excited to help build towards that goal.
Noosware B.V. is an AI innovation company based in the Netherlands. It bridges R&D and industry by turning research-grade AI capabilities into products and systems designed for real-world use. In Crop-MATCHING, Noosware contributes to the e-learning platform and personalisation mechanisms.
